S&P 500 dropped 2.1% and Nasdaq Composite slided nearly 2.5%.Declines were attributed to uncertainty surrounding the U.S. midterms. There was a hope that Republicans would sweep the House of Representatives and the Senate on Tuesday, which would have created gridlock in Washington, D.C. In reality, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada are still up for grabs in the Senate. Investors will be focusing on Thursday's CPI report, due at 8:30 a.m. ET. Also on the day, the weekly unemployment claims will be released.
