Good Morning!

This week seems to be the week of central banks. No fewer than four prominent central banks are making interest rate decisions this week. Today we have the SNB (Swiss National Bank) and the BOE (Bank of England), but what we will briefly talk about now is the Fed. Fed chairman Jerome Powelll said in his press conference yesterday that the scaling back of quantitative easing could start in November. To repeat it in exact words: 'The tapering could start from the next FOMC meeting'. This is normally scheduled for November 3. Powell, however, expects no rate hikes to arrive until the tapering is completed. For now, the Fed is still buying $120 billion in mortgage-backed securities per month. The S&P 500 rose 0.95% to 4,395 points. The technology exchange Nasdaq 100 gained 0.99% with a closing price of 15,176 points and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 1.39% on Wednesday. Indices climbed ahead of the FOMC meeting and after the usual volatility during the press conference, futures appear to be slowly continuing their upward trend. Futures on the big three stock indices are up between 0.20% and 0.30% last nightYesterday, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) announced that it is now possible in the US to give a third vaccination to patients at risk, the over-65s and at-risk professions. However, this is purely an ' emergency-use authorization'. Pfizer-BioNTech is the only vaccine to have received this approval from the FDA to date. There is still no clarity about the approval of Moderna's third vaccine. It is also unclear what should happen to patients at risk who previously received a vaccine other than Pfizer's. At first glance, the news had no impact on Pfizer's stock. Pfizer closed the day with 0.07% gain. Shares of Moderna climbed 1.54%, trading a sloppy 11% below its all-time high.
