4 Hot Stocks to Watch Today
Good Morning!
Last Friday it was hard on the stock markets. Most indices lost several percent in a shock reaction to the new corona variant. The WHO warned of a new Covid-19 variant, called Omicron from South Africa, which may be much more contagious than the delta variant. Because of the many mutations, scientists fear that vaccine resistance could increase. The S&P 500 lost 2.27% at a close of 4,594 points and the Nasdaq finished 2.23% lower at 15,491 points. Due to Black Friday, the American stock exchanges already closed at 19:00.Fortunately, the fear was already tempered during the weekend. The first researchers now state that while Omicron is much more contagious, the disease appears to be much more moderate. Vaccine makers Pfizer and Moderna are now investigating the effectiveness of the vaccine against Omicron. In response to this news, futures are already significantly higher. The indices in New York are 1.25% higher and in Europe we see pre-market gains ranging from 1.15% for the DAX to even 1.5% for the AEX index.
