US stocks closed higher on Monday amid early signs that omicron-strain infection may be progressing more easily than expected. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies rallied from their weekend lows.The S&P 500 rose 1.2% after falling 0.8% on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1.9% and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.9%.Markets have fluctuated in recent days amid conflicting statements from scientists and vaccine manufacturers about the severity of the omicron strain and how effective existing vaccines are at controlling it. However, it will take several more weeks before a more definite picture is formed.US President Joe Biden has unveiled plans to combat the omicron strain of coronavirus. These include access to booster vaccinations for all adults, a requirement to wear medical masks on public transport, and an increase in requirements for traveling abroad.Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, including ether and Solana, rebounded from weekend lows on Monday. Bitcoin traded at around $ 49,090, nearly 8.6% below its Friday night but above Saturday's low of $ 42,000.

ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACAD) stock soared 16.34% to $22.57 in the pre-market trading after announcing positive top-line results from the pivotal Phase 3 Lavender.

MongoDB Inc. (NASDAQ: MDB) shares are trading up 21.09% at $519.89 at the time of writing after reporting total revenue of $227 million in third quarter fiscal 2022, up 50% year-over-year.

Vir Biotechnology Inc. (VIR) grew over 10.18% at $42.3 in pre-market trading today after announcing an update to preclinical data on bioRxiv1, demonstrating that sotrovimab, an investigational monoclonal antibody, retains in vitro activity against the full known Omicron spike protein.

MKM Partners turned bullish on Starbucks Corporation (SBUX), upgrading the stock to "Buy" and assigning a $130.00 price target, representing potential upside of 14.68% from Monday's close.

Murphy Oil Corporation (MUR) has won the favor of JP Morgan's equity research team. The firm upgraded the shares from Neutral to Overweight and moved their price target to $37.00, suggesting 35.04% additional upside for the stock.

Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. (PTEN) received an upgrade from analysts at Morgan Stanley, who also set their one-year price target on the stock to $12.00. They changed their rating on PTEN to Overweight from Equal-Weight in a recently issued research note.

Earlier Tuesday Cowen & Co. reduced its rating on Ross Stores Inc. (ROST) stock to Market Perform from Outperform and assigned the price target to $109.00.

JP Morgan analysts reduced their investment ratings, saying in research reports covered by the media that its rating for Magnolia Oil & Gas Corporation (MGY) has been changed to Neutral from Overweight and the new price target is set at $24.00.

Analysts at JP Morgan downgraded CNX Resources Corporation (CNX)'s stock to Neutral from Overweight Tuesday.
