Actual Chart of S&P500 vs Our Portfolio

Stocks face a challenging start to the second quarter, with inflation data lingering from last week and robust economic indicators on Monday driving up yields and reducing the likelihood of a June rate cut by the Fed. The 10-year Treasury yield surged to its highest level since November 28, while oil prices reached a five-month peak on Tuesday, exacerbating inflation concerns.

The probability of a June rate cut, as indicated by fed futures trading, has dropped to approximately 58.8%, down from about 70% a week earlier. The crucial question now is whether the positive momentum from the beginning of 2024 can be sustained if the Fed maintains its current stance on rates.
