Good Morning!
Tuesday's stock futures paint a hopeful picture as investors eagerly anticipate the release of fresh economic data and gear up for the grand finale of June and the second quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures confidently added 12 points, signaling a promising start. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures join the upward trend, gaining 0.2% and 0.4% respectively, setting the stage for a potentially positive day.Yesterday's journey on Wall Street took a slight detour as the Nasdaq Composite took the lead, experiencing a dip of nearly 1.2%. Investors took the opportunity to secure profits from certain technology stocks, causing Tesla to slide by 6%, while Nvidia, Alphabet, and Meta Platforms all finished more than 3% lower. The S&P 500 closed with a minor setback of approximately 0.5%, while the Dow managed to stay just below the flat line. However, it's worth noting that the Dow is currently on a six-day losing streak, marking its longest stretch of consecutive losses since September 2022.Despite Monday's stumble, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq remain on track to close June with gains of over 3%, painting a positive picture for the month. Meanwhile, the Dow is expected to secure a monthly advance of nearly 2.5%, showcasing its resilience. As we approach the end of the second quarter and the first half of 2023, Friday's closing bell will symbolize an important milestone. The Nasdaq outshines its counterparts, boasting a remarkable gain of over 9% for the quarter. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 and Dow are poised to finish the period with gains of more than 5% and 1%, respectively, illustrating their steady progress.
