U.S. stocks wavered on Wednesday as traders worked to rebound from a sharp tech-led selloff in the previous session.

The S&P 500 declined -4.11 points, or -0.07%, at $5904.91. Among the 11 major S&P 500 sectors, 7 showed negative movement, with Utilities leading the way with a -1.83% decrease.

Adding to the uncertainty, the sentiment was dampened by a CNN report that President-elect Donald Trump may declare a national economic emergency to implement new tariffs.

Meanwhile, bond yields continued to climb on expectations that Trump’s tariff and tax plans could fuel inflation. The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield rose sharply, briefly surpassing 4.7%, reaching levels last seen in late April.
