The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell on Tuesday after President Donald Trump announced additional tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum imports into the U.S.
As of 11:14 AM ET, the Dow was down -426.21 points, or -1.01692%, at $41485.5. The Nasdaq Composite added 6.58 points, or 0.0338635%, at $19437.533. The S&P 500 declined -27.85 points, or -0.49603%, at $5586.71. Among the 11 major S&P 500 sectors, 7 showed negative movement, with Industrials leading the way with a -1.66% decrease.
Investors are now eagerly awaiting the release of Februaryβs Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI), scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday morning, respectively. Both are critical indicators of the U.S. economy's health.
